Whether your iPhone Connects to Wi-Fi but no Internet access, here is how to fix the issue.
Fixes for iPhone 12 Pro Max not connecting to Wi-Fi
Solution #1: Toggle Wi-Fi off and on again
Yes, this has been the most generic solution in the history of tech. But the reason for that is because it sometimes works. So, before trying anything else, just go ahead and turn Wi-Fi off and on again. It can’t hurt, but it may help.
Here’s how to do that, in case you’re not sure:
Open Settings.
Tap Wi-Fi.
Tap the Wi-Fi switch twice. Once to turn it off, and again to turn it on.
Solution #2: Update your iPhone
At times, bad update is probably the reason your iPhone 12 Pro Max can’t connect to Wi-Fi. iPhones are made to work, and the one thing that’s most likely to disrupt that is a faulty update. Especially if we take into account that iOS updates have been a mixed bag throughout history. Most of them introduce new features and improve your iPhone, but some updates can really mess up everything.
If you suspect your Wi-Fi connection doesn’t work because of the latest iOS 14 update you installed on your iPhone, your best bet is to probably wait for a new update. Unless there’s a specific solution that applies to your iOS 14 version (do a little research). But if there’s no specific solution, you can either try other solutions from this article (although I can’t promise any of them would work) or just wait for Apple to release a patch.
Solution #3: Check the Airplane mode
If you’ve accidentally turned on the Airplane mode, you won’t be able to connect to Wi-Fi. So, go ahead and check if it’s off: Here’s how to do that:
Go to Settings.
Make sure the Airplane Mode option is toggled off.
Solution #4: Reboot your iPhone
The principle is the same as in the first solution, but it works on a deeper level. So, instead of rebooting the Wi-Fi feature, let’s go and reboot the whole phone. Maybe that will resolve the problem and allow us to connect to a Wi-Fi network again.
To reboot your iPhone, press and hold the Side button + the Volume Down button at the same time, until the Power off slider appears. Just drag the slider from left to right, and your iPhone will power off. Turn on your iPhone again, and try to connect to a Wi-Fi network again. If you succeed, you’re done. If not, well, proceed to the next solution.
Solution #5: Re-connect to a WiFi network
Since we’re rebooting and reconnecting, you may as well reconnect to a particular Wi-Fi network, if that’s the only network you can’t connect to. Just make sure you know that network’s password, so you can connect to that network again without problems.
Here’s what you need to do:
Open Settings.
Tap Wi-Fi.
Tap the Wi-Fi network you’re trying to connect to.
Go to Forget This Network, and confirm by tapping Forget.
Now, go ahead and try to connect to that Wi-Fi network again. Maybe you’ll be of better luck this time.
Solution #6: Check the router
If you’re having problems with a Wi-Fi network in your own home, it’s a good idea to check your router. Maybe something inside the router settings isn’t set properly, and that’s exactly what’s preventing you from connecting to the Wi-Fi network.
Since there are so many different router manufacturers and models, and can’t exactly tell you what to do. So, you’ll have to either check the router’s manual or contact your internet provider for help.
Solution #7: Reset Network Settings
If none of the previous solutions resolved the problem with Wi-Fi on iPhone 12 Pro Max, you can try resetting the network settings altogether. Just remember that if you choose to do so, you’ll be reverting each setting to its original state, so you might need some time to get everything back in order.
So, think twice before resetting the network settings. Nevertheless, if you want to try this solution, here’s what you need to do:
Open Settings.
Go to General > Reset.
Tap Reset Network Settings.
Type in your passcode to confirm.
