We will talk about tips, workarounds, and solutions to fix Wi-Fi problems on iPhone 14 Pro Max, iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Plus.

As there are many factors causing WiFi problems on your iPhone 14 Pro Max, we are going to start from the basic issues and move on to more advanced problems with their solution.

How to fix Wi-Fi not working on iPhone 14 Pro Max issue

Before we move to the solutions listed below, you should check if Wi-Fi on your iPhone 14 Pro Max is turned on.

You may have forgotten to turn it on or switched it off by mistake. Luckily for you, this is an easy fix. Just bring up the Control Center and check if the Wi-Fi icon is enabled. Alternatively, you can also open up the Settings app and click on Wi-Fi. Make sure Wi-Fi is toggled on.

Without further ado, here are some time-tested solutions to fix the Wi-Fi issues on your iPhone 14 Pro Max:

1. Toggle Wi-Fi and Airplane mode

Whether your iPhone 14 Pro Max cannot connect to Wi-Fi at all or your Wi-Fi connection keeps dropping, toggling the Wi-Fi connection is known to be effective in many cases. Start with the Wi-Fi. You can do this by navigating to Settings > Wi-Fi. Turn the feature off, wait for a couple of seconds and then turn it back on.

After this, toggle Airplane mode. You can do this by heading over to Settings, tap Airplane mode and enable it. Leave it on for a minute then turn it off.

2. Restart your iPhone

We aren’t quite sure why, but a quick restart will iron out most small software issues and hiccups causing iPhone 14 Pro Max Wi-Fi problems. It’s always one of the first troubleshooting tips we recommend, and it’s a quick and easy fix you should try. You can do this by going to Settings > General > Shut Down.

3. Reboot your router

It’s possible that the router is to blame for your iPhone 14 Pro Max Wi-Fi problems. This happens often enough and is yet another easy fix in most cases. Just unplug the router from the power outlet and wait for at least 30 seconds before you plug it back in. Many routers also have a restart button. After that, you’ll have to wait for a minute or two for the router to turn back on. Once it’s set up, try to connect to the network again to see if things work as they should now.

4. Check whether Wi-Fi is connected with too many devices

Depending on the capacity of the Wi-Fi router, you may have problems connecting your iPhone when it has reached the maximum number of devices it can take. If you’re the owner of the router, you can disconnect inactive devices like smartphones that are not in use, as background apps may still be using the bandwidth even when the screen is turned off.

5. Try another device.

After ruling out the router as the cause of your iPhone 14 Pro Max Wi-Fi problems, you should also check your device. A straightforward way of doing that is trying another device. You can try your computer or your friend’s phone instead. If it works, try some more fixes below to troubleshoot your iPhone.

6. Forget the Wi-Fi network and reconnect

Forgetting the network and reconnecting to it is the next solution that might solve your iPhone 14 Pro Max Wi-Fi problem. Follow these steps:

  1. Head to Settings > Wi-Fi
  2. Find your network there and tap (i) that is located right next to your network’s name
  3. Tap Forget this network
  4. Tap Forget again to confirm the action.
  5. When you are done, go back to Settings > Wi-Fi, find your network on the list. Type in your password and hopefully, you’ll be able to connect.

7. Disable VPN

If you use a VPN to browse anonymously then you should know that all VPNs slow down internet speed to some extent. VPN route the traffic through their servers and also encrypt and decrypt data in real-time. This leads to slower processing as your internet needs to deal with more data. If a VPN is enabled on your iPhone, open the VPN app and turn it off. Alternatively, just launch the Settings app and tap on the VPN toggle.

In addition, if you have installed many unnecessary VPN apps on your iPhone, try uninstalling a few. This will also delete their VPN profiles.

8. Update your iPhone

While software versions aren’t a common issue with data or Wi-Fi connections, these can fix system bugs your iPhone 14 Pro Max may be encountering. Updating your iPhone software is worth a try, and it’s an effortless way to possibly get things back up and running.

  1. Go into the Settings app.
  2. Tap on General.
  3. Hit Software update.
  4. Your iPhone will let you know if there is an available update. Follow instructions to update.

9. Make sure the date and time are properly set

If nothing has fixed your iPhone 14 Pro Max Wi-Fi issues so far, make sure that the date and time on your phone are set correctly for your time zone. The best option to go for is “Set automatically”. Go to Settings > General > Date & Time , tap on Set Automatically.

10. Disable Wi-Fi Assist

iPhone 14 Pro Max includes a feature called Wi-Fi Assist, which provides more reliable Internet connections when your WiFi network becomes spotty. However, some readers have reported that turning it off seemed to help resolve the iPhone 14 Pro Max WiFi problems. Here’s how to turn off Wi-Fi Assist:

  1. launch the Settings app.
  2. Navigate to Cellular (Mobile in some regions).
  3. Scroll down to the bottom where you will see Wi-Fi Assist. Tap on the toggle to turn it off.

11. Reset network settings

This option is something you should definitely try when having Wi-Fi issues on your iPhone 14 Pro Max. It will restore the network settings to factory defaults. Follow the steps below:

  • Head to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset
    Tap Reset network settings
  • You will have to enter your passcode
  • Tap Reset network settings.

12. Reset all settings

If you find your iPhone 14 Pro Max Wi-Fi not working after trying the above solutions, you can restore all settings to factory defaults. Here is how:

  • Navigate to Settings
  • Go to General
  • Select Transfer or Reset iPhone
  • Choose Reset all settings
  • Enter your passcode
  • Select Reset all settings

13. Factory reset your iPhone

This is far from a great option, but it’s worth a shot if the steps described above don’t fix your iPhone 14 Pro Max Wi-Fi problems. A factory reset will eliminate any software bugs on your device that might have caused your connection problems. It’s not hard to do and doesn’t take a lot of time. However, it will wipe all the data (images, apps, documents, etc.) off your device, so make sure you back it up first.

  1. Navigate to Settings
  2. Go to General
  3. Select Transfer or Reset iPhone
  4. Choose Erase all content and settings
  5. Enter your passcode
  6. Choose Erase iPhone.

Your phone will take a couple of minutes for this. When it is all completed, follow a few simple steps to set up your iPhone 14 Pro Max.

14. Reset Your Router

If you are still facing iPhone 14 Pro Max Wi-Fi problems, you can also completely reset your router to factory settings that should revert any wrong changes that may be affecting the WiFi. To reset the router, you will find a tiny reset button inside a hole right on your router (mostly at the back side). You can use a paper clip to press this button. Press and hold this button for 10-15 seconds and your router should restart confirming it has been reset. Once done, you will have to make all the changes again, and set up a new Wi-Fi password.

15. Contact Your Internet Service Provider

If none of the tips above have fixed your iPhone 14 Pro Max Wi-Fi problems, the problem might be more serious. There may be a hardware issue with your router.

The best thing to do is try and connect at least one other device to the Wi-Fi network causing you headaches. If it also can’t connect, there’s a good chance that something is wrong with your router. It’s an unfortunate problem, but not an isolated one. Just call your internet provider, explain the problem, and someone should come to your home to replace the broken router with a new one and set it up.

However, if other devices can connect to the network and only your iPhone 14 Pro Max cannot, that might be the cause of your issues. We only say it might be because there are cases when some routers won’t work with specific devices. In this case, replacing the router with a different one should do the trick.

You could test this out by trying to connect your iPhone 14 Pro Max to a different Wi-Fi network at your friend’s house or a restaurant, for example. If you can’t get a connection, it’s most likely that your iPhone 14 Pro Max is to blame, which means you should get it repaired.

16. Repair options

If you still have iPhone 14 Pro Max Wi-Fi issues, it’s most likely that your phone has a hardware problem, which means you should get it repaired. If it’s still under warranty or if you have phone insurance, this shouldn’t be a big deal. Otherwise, you’ll have to pay up to get it fixed unless you want to rely on a mobile network for internet access. Visit one of the Apple stores nearby.
